Islamofascist AKP Tightening its Grip in Turkey
AKP, the governing fundamentalist Islamic party, has been tightening its autocratic grip in Turkey. The country is slipping day by day into an Islamic dictatorship as dissidents and critics are being subdued with intimidation, arrests or beatings. The latest example: five metal music fans, among them a female, were arrested because they made the “sign of the horns” while Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s motorcade was passing by. (See a picture of Ronnie James Dio throwing the sign at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dio_throwing_Horns.jpg and the full story of the arrests at http://www.cnnturk.com/2009/turkiye/07/25/metalci.selamina.gozalti/536446.0/index.html).
According to the media reports, the fans were waiting to get into a concert hall, while enjoying the music broadcast from loudspeakers and throwing the sign, just like any fans going to a concert would do. Unfortunately, they happened to be just on the route of the Erdoğan’s motorcade and their enthusiasm evidently attracted the attention of the religious zealots in the convoy, who have little sympathy with political opposition and much less understanding of heavy metal music and its subculture. A guy, who appeared to be in the security detail, popped his head out of one of the cars and yelled “what the fuck!” Within minutes, the fans were rounded up by Erdoğan’s thugs, hustled into police cars without being told what they were accused of, and shipped to the police headquarters, where they were held and questioned for 21 hours. Charges: “insulting a statesman!”
This is only one of the countless acts of repression by the security forces of the AKP regime. Turkish police, almost entirely taken over by the members of an extremist Islamic sect (Fetullah Gülen movement), act as AKP’s party militia, brutally beating up peaceful protesters, arbitrarily arresting people, busting through private residences to conduct unwarranted searches, wiretapping almost anyone deemed to be a dissident and releasing private phone conversations to the public, and torturing and killing suspects under arrest. In short, the police have become the SS of Turkey in the 21st century. Below is a picture of the riot police assaulting unarmed students in a peaceful protest against tuition increases, hitting them with steel batons and dragging them by their hair on the streets of Izmir. Similar incidents recently happened also in Istanbul.

In another attempt to suppress government’s critics in the press, AKP administration’s Tax and Revenue Service has issued a half-a-billion US dollar fine against a media conglomerate (Doğan Holding), which owns two major opposition newspapers, Hürriyet and Milliyet. Many other smaller newspapers and TV stations critical of AKP’s policies have been bought out by wealthy supporters of the governing party and have since become propaganda machines for the government in a 180-degree turn from their previous positions. A high profile investigation dubbed “Ergenekon,” purporting to target a secret terror organization which allegedly seeks to topple the government with force, has become a tool in the hands of AKP-appointed, fundamentalist prosecutors to nab dozens of intellectuals, politicians, retired military officers, journalists and academicians who are known to be staunch supporters of the secular democratic regime and opponents of fundamentalist, antidemocratic policies of AKP. The Islamofascist party and its authoritarian leadership are resorting to all kinds of legal and illegal means at their disposal to silence opposition and pave the way to change the constitution which will allow them to abolish secularism and democracy in Turkey.
Turkish democracy is facing the most serious threat to its existence since its inception in 1923. AKP, which bears resemblance to Hamas in its ideology and grassroots organization, is going full steam ahead to strangle the constitutional democracy in which it sprouted, grew and flourished, in a striking similarity to the Nazi Party in the 1930s in Germany. If AKP achieves its objective, the repercussions will be far reaching. Anybody who is interested in keeping the stability in Southeastern Europe and the security of energy routes must pay close attention to the spread of Islamic theocracy in Turkey. AKP must be stopped at any cost. The US, as the leader of the free world, has an obligation to support liberties and freedoms in Turkey and work with seculars to stem off the evil, autocratic AKP rule.

German Christian Democrat Wants to “DELOUSE” Munich from Social Democrats
This news story is already several months old but it is so shocking that I had to write a post about it. Josef Schmid, the candidate from Christian Social Union (Bavarian sister party of Christian Democrats) for Mayor of Munich, characterized the red-green coalition, i.e. the Social Democrats and the Greens governing the city as “the louse in the fur of the Bavarian lion,” and added that it is “high time that we begin with delousing.” As we all know, delousing is a term Nazis used to describe the gassing of Jews (For the original of the article in German news magazine Focus, please follow this link: http://www.focus.de/politik/deutschland/tid-7552/nazi-vergleich_aid_134484.html.)
This story is extremely disturbing for the following reasons: First, a German politician dares make such an outrageous reference to the holocaust and receives no reprimand from neither the German government nor from any other country, including the US and Israel. Second, this sicko was not asked by his party to withdraw his candidacy. Third, this story did not make it to the international media, including the news outlets in the US, the UK and Europe (run a query on Google about “munich delousing” and you will get nothing at least in the first few pages). It looks like the Germans –again–did a good job covering it up.
What happened in the municipal elections in Munich in May 2008? Social Democrats won 66.7% of the vote while the Nazi-imitator got 24.5%. It is still scary that he was able to obtain the support of one quarter of the constituency of this city, which is a liberal and cosmopolitan bastion in the middle of the extreme rightist desert of Bavaria.
I am calling on the US and Israeli authorities to deny this Nazi entry if he tries to travel to the US or Israel. As far as other European countries are concerned, I don’t keep my hopes up because they prefer to tag along with Germany.

Golden Horn Hotel in Istanbul: Don’t go there… Unless you want to support Al-Qaeda
Turkish customers are refused sale of alcohol at the restaurant of Golden Horn Hotel in Istanbul, whereas foreigners are allowed to drink it. This is exemplary of the recent islamization campaign being conducted by the ruling islamofascist AKP party in Turkey.
Turkish daily Hürriyet reported that a waiter refused to serve alcohol to Dilek Kolat, who is a Turkish-German and a Berlin state representative from the social democratic SPD party, whereas the others in the group, all of whom were Germans, were served alcohol (for the original article, please follow http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/gundem/9017488.asp?gid=229&sz=29710). The waiter explained that he would not serve her wine because she is a Turk, and the fact that she is Turkish German and a state representative from SPD did not matter. This upset not only Ms. Kolat, but the entire dinner party, and when she spoke to a manager, she was told her that the hotel was being controlled by AKP and the staff were not allowed to serve alcohol to Turkish citizens.
This blatant and unlawful discrimination is encouraged by the islamist mayor of Istanbul Kadir Topbaş from AKP, who has also banned alcohol at all restaurants and cafés operated by the municipality of Istanbul. It is noteworthy that the European Union, which has criticized the ongoing legal case against AKP in the Supreme Court has not raised its voice against this alcohol ban crusade which is being spread all over Turkey by the AKP administration in Ankara and local AKP governments. AKP’s islamofascist efforts seem to be in the best interest of Europe to keep Turkey out of the continent once she has been converted to a medieval society based on Iranian and Saudi models.
We appeal to all those who will visit Istanbul to avoid Golden Horn Hotel and all municipality owned and operated facilities: these places are run and staffed by islamic zealots who will smile at your face and spit in your food or drink, and pray Allah so all enemies of Islam (that is you) be destroyed in this world and the other… Do not support those who want to ruin secularism and enlightenment in Turkey. Do not support those who are working for a backward islamic empire hostile to the modern civilization. Do not support those who sympathize with Al-Qaeda and pray for its victory.

Islamofascist AKP’s Vision For Turkish Women – Supported by EU and Western Media
This picture is not taken in Iran, but in Abant – a popular mountain lake resort in a couple of hours distance from Istanbul. Since AKP, Turkey’s ruling party with islamic roots, took over, the number of veiled women has been snowballing not only in the countryside, but also in westernized big cities like Istanbul and Ankara. This is not a coincidence as AKP and its supporters are carrying out a ferocious campaign to cover Turkish women in headscarves, veils, and burkas in an effort to further islamicise the society. Employees of the government and local municipalities won’t get promoted if their wifes are not covered… Businessmen whose wifes don’t wear a hearscarf won’t get a government contract… Covered women pressure their uncovered neighbors to put on a headscarf… In some small towns, it is impossible for some women and girls to go out in the street without wearing a headscarf. Turkish press recently reported attacks on women not wearing headscarves by extremist islamic men.
AKP’s full-fledged plan to imprison Turkish women in their homes as preached by islam and its holy book, and return the Turkish society to medieval times is under way. While this islamic revolution is boiling at grassroots level, a courageous state prosecutor is stepping up and bringing charges against islamofascist AKP, which is using democracy and the European Union application process as a cover to abolish the secular republic and establish an autocratic khalifate in Turkey – just like Osama bin Laden would like. And while all this is happening, European Union officials, from Jose Manuel Barrosso, EU Commission President, to Olli Rehn, Commission member responsible for enlargement, and Joost Lagendijk, chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee with Turkey, have not said a word to denounce the suppression of women and the surreptitious attack on secular society in Turkey. On the contrary, they have the balls to criticize the ongoing legal case against the Turkish hybrid of Hamas and Taliban in blatant disrespect of independent judiciary and to the applause of jihadists worldwide.
EU officials have an accomplice in patting the back of islamic extremists in Turkey: Western media outlets such as the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times have not only proved staunch supporters of AKP in spite of its radical islamic domestic policies, but their support has even bordered on propaganda on behalf of AKP. This shows that they are either extremely ignorant about Turkey, or just want islamic terrorists to take over Turkey and beat down on Turkish women.
So, when you read a righteous-sounding article on women’s rights and emancipation in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, or Financial Times, remember that these newspapers are asslickers to a bunch of thugs who want to veil up Turkish women, confine them among four walls of their homes, and take away all their rights. Remember this -fucking- hypocrisy and tell it to the entire world!

EU’s Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn Supports Fundamentalist Islamists in Turkey
The EU’s Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn has denounced a decision by the Turkish Constitutional Court to formally hear demands to ban the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for adopting Islam as its reference (http://www.euractiv.com/en/enlargement/eu-slams-turkish-court-decision-hear-akp-ban/article-171240). Olli Rehn said that there is no reason to justify a ban: “Such a measure may only be justified in the case of parties which advocate the use of violence or use violence as a political means to overthrow the democratic constitutional order. I do not see any such justification for this case.”
Olli Rehn fails to see, or prefers to ignore, AKP’s concerted and well-organized efforts to overthrow the secular regime in Turkey in a 20 year-long master plan. His main presumption is that, as long as AKP does not resort to violence, it should be allowed to destroy secularism in Turkey, which will automatically render Turkey ineligible for EU membership. Thus, EU will — in its own right– resolve the issue of the sick man of Europe once and for all — without having to issue an official rejection.
Rehn and other EU officials who side with AKP do not understand that, if Turkey is allowed to become like Iran, and gravitate out of EU membership path, it will turn into a geostrategic threat of unimaginable proportions to Europe, and the world.
What is AKP doing? In summary, it is trying to islamicize the Turkish society in a grassroots movement. Alcohol is being practically banned in many small towns throughout the Turkish countyside whereby local municipalities revoke or refuse to renew alcohol licenses of restaurants. Government officials, whose wifes wear a headscarf, are being promoted; those whose wife don’t are being pressured to leave office. Businessmen who want to obtain government contracts have to appear to be going to the mosque, or talk islamic talk, or simply appear devout. Those whose wifes don’t cover their head are excluded from doing business with the state. Pepsi Cola subsidiary in Turkey received a $50,000 fine from “Ad Council”, a branch of Industry and Trade Ministry, because it refused to accept pictures of women in headscarves for a competition it had organized. Ads of women in bikinis are being banned from billboards in big cities. AKP decided to keep religion class mandatory in primary and secondary education in spite of a recommendation by the EU. In short, this is a movement from bottom up to convert an entire society into a fundamentalist islamic way of life, which will not only facilitate but also foster a change of the state regime.
Olli Rehn, and EU, beware… The guys who you are rooting for are no different from Taliban, with one difference that they try to keep things quiet until they reach their ultimate goal.

Goodbye to Secular Republic – Welcome to Iran II
A (former) Islamist, Abullah Gül, has been elected president of the Republic of Turkey on August 28. This is the guy who stated in a 1995 interview to a Guardian reporter that “their aim is to eliminate the secular republic”, although he later tried to convince the public opinion that he had been misquoted. There is no such thing as a former islamist. An islamist is an islamist and will remain so forever with a holy mission to spread the rule of god.
The islamists have adopted a strategy of attrition over the years to achieve their goal of a fundamentalist society in Turkey. As they know that they can’t take over with a revolution, they have decided to implement their ideas and lifestyle peacefully – under the pretense of providing good service and eliminating corruption in municipalities they control, they have encouraged women to wear headscarves, fined alcohol-selling restaurants, closed down bars for alleged health code violations, and banned billboards which displayed women in swimsuit. These practices have started out in remote Anatolian localities and crept up all the way to the big cities, which are bastions of modernism in Turkey.
By being elected 11th president of Turkey, Abullah Gül, whose wife sports a headscarf and married him at age 15, has conquered the most important position in the secular republic. Gül and his wife directly aim at scrapping secularism by transforming the Turkish society into a religious medieval community. This is the latest phase in a long-term strategy used by islamic extremists to turn Turkey into what they call a craddle of islam.
United States and Europe should make a note of this and support secular forces in Turkey – unless they want to have another, and more dangerous, Iran next to their doorstep.
